Abstract

The Level of Technological Access of the Banking Sector and its Relationship with the Use of its Products of Financial Inclusion in Mexico

The objective of this study is to evaluate the relationship between the level of technological access in the banking sector and the use of its products as an expression of financial inclusion in Mexico. The methodology used contemplates the creation of two synthetic indices, technological access and the use of financial products, through the statistical technique of principal components and the bivariate correlation analysis between said indices. The results conclude that the level of technological access in the banking sector has a growing and positive relationship with the increase in the use of financial products, however, it does not fully explain it, which implies that there is another group of factors to take into account. account in terms of financial inclusion. It is recommended to use the results obtained in decision-making and elaboration of more effective policies to increase the levels of financial inclusion in the country, especially in the southern zone, identified as the most affected. Similarly, apply the methodology at the municipal level to obtain more specific results.
